The lazy days of summer may be dwindling but  the perfect seaside affair is right at our fingertips thanks to Brett Heidebrecht. He teamed up with Kylie Swanson + Poppy Lane Design and One True Love Vintage Rentals  for a shoot inspired by the raw beauty of the ocean and the most stunning silver gown by Carol Hannah. Glamour and the wild beauty of the beach are an unstopable combo. See it here.

From Brett HeidebrechtDrawing inspiration from the subtle beauty of California’s coast as well as Carol Hannah’s stunning silver gown, I wanted to mimic the soft and feminine textures of both the location and the dress in all aspects of this shoot. The backdrop of the mesmerizing blue ocean was the perfect setting to complement the light, airy mood and largely influenced both the decor and floral choices.

Styling countless beautiful pieces in such a breathtakingly beautiful location just outside of San Francisco was quite the dream. Brett Heidebrecht effortlessly captured each and every detail to perfection and Poppy Lane Design took my breath away with her magical floral creations. The MVP of this shoot undoubtedly went to the team at One True Love Vintage Rentals, who happily hauled such spectacular (and heavy) treasures into some not-so-easy to reach spots. I was blessed to work alongside such an incredibly talented team of vendors, one that any bride would be lucky to have on her wedding day.

From The Bride…For years Greg was just the boy who lived below me. We passed one another in the hallway of our Brooklyn brownstone hundreds of times and after 6 years decided we should be friends. We soon became inseparable and what started out as friendship quickly developed into so much more. We fell in love over Thursday night drinks, Sunday dinners and countless Yankee games and after 2 ½ years of dating Greg proposed to me at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Greg and I quickly jumped right into wedding planning. We met, fell in love, and got engaged in Brooklyn – so it just felt right to get married in Brooklyn too. After going back and forth on the size of the wedding we ultimately decided on 80 of our closest friends and family. We hoped that number was small enough to feel intimate yet large enough to feel festive. We visited several venues but after seeing Brooklyn Winery we immediately knew it was perfect for us.

Planning a wedding can easily become very stressful. Fortunately we worked with wonderful vendors who alleviated much of that stress. Rachel and Jessica at Brooklyn Winery were a godsend. They were so patient and always happy to answer our many questions. Our florist (Gabrielle Aronas) was an absolute joy to work with and her flowers and tablescapes created a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere. My makeup (Stacie Ford) and hair (Ramona Azcona) far exceeded my expectations. I have never felt more beautiful and I will always be grateful to them for their warmth and professionalism. And finally, hiring Katie Osgood as our photographer was quite possibly the best wedding decision we made. She is an incredible talent who captured our special day so beautifully. And as an added bonus she is super fun too! Many, many thanks to all of the wonderful people we were lucky enough to work with.

After 6 months of exhaustive planning, our wedding day finally arrived on April 18th, 2014. It was everything we had hoped for – a day filled with immense love and happiness. We are so thankful for the limitless support and devotion of our families. We loved celebrating with them and will cherish our many memories for a lifetime.

Planning a wedding takes time and dedication. The final few weeks are often extremely stressful. With the right advice you should be able to plan your wedding day without any major hassles. Here you will read some helpful tips to help plan this important event.

Practice walking down the aisle before the wedding. Be sure that this is done where the wedding will take place so the floor can be tested along with the footwear. That way, you will know precisely how you should move.

Internet bridal shops have wedding dresses for bargain basement prices, but make sure to order well in advance so that you can get your dress altered before the big day. You may only spend $100 on the gown when buying it online, but it may cost another $200 for the alterations. Be sure to work the additional cost for alterations into your overall budget.

For a more affordable wedding, consider setting a date outside the traditional season for weddings. Most people get married between May and December. During these months, venues become more expensive. If you plan on getting married during these months, plan as early as you can for the lowest cost.

TIP! When you plan your wedding, be sure to think about cost effective alcohol options. The open bar option is the most costly of choices and the cost can be prohibitive for many couples but do not feel bad if you cannot afford it.

Your wedding photos will contain the memories of a lifetime. Therefore, it is very important to hire the best professional you can afford.

Tie little decorative items into all the elements of your wedding decor. Try using ribbons on the bouquet that go with those on the centerpieces, or try adding them to your gown or your hair. Those little details make all the difference when it comes to your whole wedding day coming together.

Try talking to local and specialty boutiques and bakeries about individual-sized portion cakes if you don’t want a fatty and expensive cake. Many bakeries offer beautiful cupcakes with a variety of healthy fillings.

Purchasing wedding gowns through the Internet can help save you a lot of money, but see to it that you do it early in order to have enough time to alter it if needed. Sometimes a gown can cost as little as a hundred dollars; however, you might spend twice that amount to have it altered to fit. Make sure the costs are included in your budget.

TIP! You can use the property of someone you know for your wedding. If you’re friends with someone who owns a large backyard, you can have a cheaper wedding there.

Prior to her wedding day, brides who have sensitive skin ought to have a skincare regimen that prevents acne, irritation, or break outs. Find facial treatments that brighten the complexion with soothing ingredients such as rose hips, oatmeal scrubs and sea salts.

Rather than spend a bunch of money on a huge cake, you may want to opt for a few tiers of great cupcakes or small tarts. The arrangements are loved for their convenience, versatility, and low price range. Instead of eating cake off a paper napkin, you can give your guests the option to nab a sweet treat on the way out. A decorative container, such as a takeout box, is far more convenient.

If you are having a destination wedding, why not treat your guests with an indulgent gift basket delivered right to their hotel rooms? The basket should contain useful items such as a map, sunglasses, disposable cameras and a hat. One piece that will really make this idea a hit with everyone is to include a restaurant guide so that all your guests are able to find options that they enjoy.

Consider an ethnic or exotic flair for your reception dinner. Chicken and steak have both been done. Go with something creative! Be certain you make the dinner at your wedding memorable; after all, it’s your big day!

TIP! Select your makeup artist carefully. Be sure to view his or her work before hiring.

If possible, see if your reception venue offers lighting choices. Certain occasions throughout the evening will call for their own separate mood and lighting, such as a first dance or cutting of the cake. Ask the venue about this before committing to it.

If you can afford it, you can try having a wedding on the cruise you like. You could just invite only those close to you. This will allow you to have your honeymoon directly afterwards. Some cruise ships offer special wedding and honeymoon packages.

Weddings are all about the union of two people, so you want to select the right person for you. Life can be complicated, but the person you love will always help you through it. With any luck, you can have a great wedding day that will create memories you will cherish forever.

Keep transportation in mind when planning your wedding. You should have taxis and limos to take people home when it’s over. Transportation is also helpful for those who have drank too much at your wedding.

TIP! Try talking to local and specialty boutiques and bakeries about individual-sized portion cakes if you don’t want a fatty and expensive cake. Some bakeries will even ship fresh cupcakes with fewer than 100 calories per serving as well as healthy options like gluten-free ingredients, fruit-filling instead of frosting, no-calorie sweeteners, or even tart meringue toppings.

This simple to use Crystal Expandable Band Wedding Candle Accessory is elasticized. Can be easily slipped around pillar candles, small votive candle holders or other décor elements that are within the maximum 3″ diameter size. Leaves our warehouse in 6-8 business days. Transit time not included.
