When I heard this bride’s wedding design was inspired the Twilight wedding scene, I raced to Youtube and to watch it for myself (with a full movie viewing following that night, obviously.) And thanks to the beautiful work of Grace Song, The Butter End Cakery and Butterfly Floral, I’d say “mission accomplished.” See every moment in the gallery from AndySeo Studio.
From the Bride.. It was a typical late night after work on 2010 when I first met Zoo, now my husband. I was working as a chef at London West Hollywood hotel, and after cooking for exhausting 10 hours, my co-worker and I could not help the late night munchies. Usually, this late night munchies are evil, but I say this one was the opposite since it led me to meet my husband, who was a good friend of my co-worker and was fighting the munchies just like us! My co-worker called Zoo out and we ended up having drinks/snacks together. In fact, nothing happened that night. I only remember the meal was just good and Zoo was wearing a red beanie, which I was like, ‘what the…’. No one, even my co-worker, this night would be the beginning of everything. We didn’t know why, but we found we hung out each other more often since that accidental, but destined night.
Our love started growing somewhere in our heart.I became his fiance on the night of Christmas eve. He decorated his room with an arch and light balls, and kneeled down with a little tears. Sure, he recorded everything with his ‘hidden’ video camcorder. We had about a year and a half engagement to have enough time for the one and only wedding prep!
I am a huge fan of Disney since I was a child, so I always wanted to have my wedding like the ones in fairytales. One day, I got to see the movie, ‘Twilight’ wedding scenes, and that was it! Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA was a just perfect outdoor venue with rustic barn aura and so much trees and plants. Especially, we loved and picked Ranch House since it also gave us much room to decorate to my exactly wanted theme.
Our wedding planner, Grace Song (CEO of Charis event & Design), there is no way our wedding could have been the spectacular day it was without her. It is not just the organization, it is the consultation and conversations prior that relieved my stress and helped me prepare for the day. She had ideas that elevated mine. We need someone like Grace to rein it all in, and figure out the details that your brain could not comprehend. She is the expert, and it shows. Nothing seems to faze her. We are truly blessed to have her as our coordinator for our wedding. And our photographer, Andy Seo Photography, one of the best decision we made for our wedding. We cannot say enough great things about Andy and his photography team.
Many thanks to other vendors that we had for our wedding, and also embrace every minutes of your special day because it goes by unbelievably quickly. If you hire great people, they will make your day is so special and that you get to enjoy every single moment.

Weddings are special and to be cherished. These tips will really help with the planning. With the proper planning an preparation, your big day will be one of joy and happy memories.
Try for a date that is not in the middle of wedding season. Traditionally, weddings take place between May and September. During the wedding season, venues are generally more expensive. If you need to book during this time, make sure you book far in advance to get the best deal.
Include elements that tell about you, your spouse and the relationship. Pick a theme that symbolizes the time you two have had together.
In your wedding plans, make sure you consider what types of alcohol you wish to serve, and which ones are most cost effective. Open bar is the most expensive option, and the longer the bar is open, the more expensive it becomes. With only a quick question, your venue should be able to provide you with their alcohol serving options.
Use a friend’s property to host your wedding. For example, a large backyard could be the perfect setting, and you will save a lot of money this way. You can make sure the cleaning and setup is done, of course, but that is the only thing you should have to pay for regarding the wedding venue.
When choosing a venue for the reception, be sure to account for enough space to dance. You want to have ample room for everyone to get down, so if the dance floor of your favorite venue is lacking at least make sure that you can add some size by moving nearby tables and chairs.
Practice walking down the aisle in front of a full-length mirror to make sure you know what you’re doing, especially if you’re going to be wearing heels. If you’re scared of turning your ankle, go with attractive flats instead. Footwear that’s not so sexy is preferable to falling on your bottom on your wedding day!
The photographs of your wedding will build your book of memories to look back on for years to come. Hire a professional. Don’t be shy on spending money in this area as they can document this magical day to perfection.
It may sound odd but it might be fun if you ask your family if they would like to join you on the honeymoon as well. By booking longer stays, money can be saved. This helps make your wedding experience more memorable for everyone!
Give your wedding guests a time line of events of your wedding, they will know how to plan! Give them clear direction, times to be there and what they need to bring, so that things go smoothly.
Ask a close friend or family member if they’d be interested in becoming ordained online to be able to officiate your ceremony. This can not only save you money, but can also add a touch of personality to your ceremony. You should check the legality of this option in your area before you make a decision.
You do not have to get a wedding cake that is filled with countless calories. There are some bakers who are able to prepare delicious and beautiful cakes that are individually sized to be just enough to give someone the cake they want without the calories they do not want. You may be able to find a bakery willing to provide freshly-baked cupcakes that are low-calorie and available in healthier options for family with special dietary needs such as gluten or sugar-free.
If you wish to serve guests multiple courses, make sure they are entertained with dishes of small and sweet appetizers on each table. Sugar roses that blend with your wedding colors would be a nice touch.
Big centerpieces are overpriced and overrated, often taking more from table conversation than they add to it. Choose a simple, small and elegant centerpiece with pizazz. If the centerpiece is too big, it becomes a distraction, making it difficult for people to interact as well as enjoy their food.
Remember that you’ll be in a different environment than you’re used to–you might not be able to find your favorite flowers if your wedding destination’s climate is very different than the climate in your home state. Consult with a florist to see which flowers are in season or most readily available at the time of your wedding.
Use a mirror to visualize and practice when you walk down the aisle, especially if you plan to wear heels. Flats may be a better choice if you think you may hurt your feet. This will help you to feel comfortable on the big day.
By using these tips, the wedding can be a wondrous event that everyone enjoys. It is your big day and you want it to be absolutely perfect. It is important that both parties to a marriage have the wedding they have always dreamed of.
It took about two seconds into this engagement shoot for me to realize we had our hands on something special. I’m talking blooms from Pollen Floral Design and photography by Brumley and Wells…or in other words, the dream team. They took to the rooftops of Brooklyn for a boho chic love sesh, and the gallery is proof that #WeddingWednesday is going to be soooo good.
From Brumley & Wells… Zach and Tara’s styled engagement shoot was such a dream thanks to the craftsmanship and artistry of Boston Pollen, who created the floral arrangements and dip-dyed the dress and fabric. Brooklyn provided the perfect backdrop for with its quintessential views of Manhattan and it’s grungy, vibrant streets, a perfect fit for this Greenpoint couple.

You know her as the voice behind eat.sleep.wear, but today Kimberly is gracing the pages of SMP as a glowing bride-to-be. Along with her handsome beau, she hit the streets of Philly for an engagement sesh with Alison Conklin, and the result is a pretty + playful nod to their upcoming destination nuptials. Let the wedding planning begin!
From Alison Conklin Photography… These are engagement photos of Kimberly and Blake. Kimberly is the force behind the very popular blog Eat Sleep Wear. Her and Blake live in LA, California but are from the Philadelphia area. For their engagement session we ran around the streets of Philly hitting some of their favorite spots. They held pineapples in their photos because they are getting married in Hawaii in May of 2015.
From the Bride-to-be… Philadelphia will always be a city near and dear to my heart. And the funny thing is that I would have never guessed how I would meet my fiancé. A born and raised Philly girl, I spent about 12 years living in the city and working multiple graphic design jobs before starting my fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog. It was a journey that took me to NYC to live my dreams in the fashion world. One of those jobs in Philadelphia was for an agency where I would meet a guy named Blake. We exchanged a few emails about 5 years ago and the only connection between us were our mutual best friends.
Fast forward to 2012 when our mutual best friends got married in Philadelphia. I was living in NYC, Blake was living in San Diego. On a day filled with such love and joy for beautiful friend, I found a connection with my long lost acquaintance from my Philly days. A few months after the wedding, I invited Blake on a whim to come spend New Years Eve with me in NYC. Not expecting him to say yes at all. “Sure! When should I fly out?”
After many flights shared between NYC and San Diego, I found myself moving across the country to be with this man I loved so much. 9 months later… we were engaged!
Philadelphia means so much to us both. I knew I wanted to come back for our engagement session. I also knew that no one else but Alison Conklin would shoot those photos. Her eye for catching beautiful light, and laughter between two people is something that has resonated with me for quite some time. I quickly called Alison and begged her to be part of our wedding!
I wanted some special places to my time in Philadelphia to be incorporated into the shoot. We started in Old City which boasted old cobble stone streets, unique doorways, and old world charm. I spent so much time in the green parks when I lived in the city so we made a stop at Washington Square Park to sit on the benches. Our final stop was at some of my favorite tile mosaics in the city. Philly based artist Isaiah Zagar creates mosaic murals all over the city and it makes the streets truly sparkle. It was the perfect backdrop to get silly with a bunch of pineapples. Maybe my pineapple are hinting to the location of my wedding. Can you guess?!
We had the best day running through memories of our past, but also, creating new ones in the city we love so much.
